You will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for purposess such as research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance or environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretial, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
You will monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. You may enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer and peripheral devices. You will also monitor and respond to operating and error messages.
You will apply theory and principles of environmental engineering to modify, test, and perate equipment and devices used in the prevention, control and remediation of environmental pollution, including waste treatment and site remediation. You may assist in the development of environmental pollution remediation devices unver the direction of an engineer.
You will operate or maintain stationary engines, boilers, or other mechanical equipment to provide utilities for buildings or industrial processes. You will operate equipement, such as steam engines, generators, motors, turbines, and steam boilers.
You will plan, direct, or coordinate the academic, clerical, or auxiliary activities of public or private elementary or secondary level schools.
You will prepare plans and procedures for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies. You will also help lead the response during and after emergencies, often in coordination with public safety officials, elected officials, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
You will compile data pertaining to size, content, condition, and other characteristics of forest tracts, under direction of foresters; train and lead forest workers in forest propagation, fire prevention and suppression. You may assist conservation scientists in managing, improving, and protecting rangelands and wildlife habitats, and help provide technical assistance regarding the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources.
You will supervise fire fighters who control and extinguish municipal fires, protect life and property, and conduct rescue efforts.
You will compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinical patients in a manner sonsistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. You will process, maintain, compile, and report patient information for health requirements and standards.
You will plan, direct, coordinate, or budget activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. You will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
You will diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul trucks, buses, and all types of diesel engines. This includes mechanics working primarily with automobile diesel engines.
You will set up, operate, or tend machines that cut or slice materials, such as glass, stone, cork, rubber, tobacco, food, paper, or insulating material.
You will set up, operate, or tend machines to crush, grind, or polish materials, such as coal, glass, grain, stone, food, or rubber.
You will set up, operate, or tend machines that extrude and form continuous filaments from synthetic materials, such as liquid polymer, rayon, and fiberglass.
You will set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials, such as wire, rod, or bar stock.
You will operate underground loading machines to load coal, ore, or rock into shuttle or mine cars or onto conveyors. Your loading equipment may include power shovels, hoisting engines equipped with cable drawn scrapers or scoops, or machines equipped with gathering arms and conveyors.
You will control the operation of petroleum refining or processing units. You may specialize in controlling manifold and pumping systems, gauging or testing oil in storage tanks, or regulating the flow of oil into pipelines.
You will set up, operate, or tend continuous flow or vat-type equipment; filter presses; shaker screens; cetrifuges; condenser tubes; precipitating, fermenting, or evaportating tanks; scrubbing towers; or batch stills. These machines extract, sort, or separate liquids, gases, or solids from other materials to recover a refined product.
You will install, repair, and maintain mechanical regulating and controlling devices, such as electric meters, gas regulators, thermostats, safety and flow valves, and other mechanical governors.
You will operate or tend equipment, such as cooling and freezing units, refrigerators, batch freezers, and freezing tunnels, to cool or freeze products, food, blood plasma, and chemicals.
