You will counsel people with a focus on prevention., working with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. You may help individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health.
You will diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage and family systems. You'll use psychology, family systems theories, and techniques in the deliver of professional services to individuals, couples, and families for the purpose of treating nervous and mental disorders.
You will counsel individuals to maximize the independence and employability of persons coping with personal, social, and vocational difficulties that result from birth defects, illness, disease, accidents, or the stress of daily life. You will coordinate activities for residents of care and treatment facilities. You may also assess client needs and design and implement rehabilitation programs that may include personal and vocational counseling, training, and job placement.
You will feed, water, and examine pets and other nonfarm animals for signs of illness, disease, or injury in laboratories and animal hospitals and clinics. You will clean and disinfect cages and work areas, and serilize laboratory and surgical equipement. You may provide routine post-operative care, administer medication orally or topically, or prepare samples for laboratory examination under the supervision of veterinary or laboratory animal technologists or technicians, veterinarians, or scientists.
You will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. You will assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including supervision of respiratory therapy technicians. You may initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.
